The Cochrane District Detox Centre (CDDC), which is sponsored by the Smooth Rock Falls Hospital, was opened in November 1989. The 27-bed facility is housed in the Mattagami Centre and operates 24/7. The CDDC is a substance-free live-in facility that provides Withdrawal Management Services, Residential Support Services and Case Management Services. Any person over the age of 16 who wants to address substance use issues or is in need of relapse prevention will be considered for admission. The CDDC approach is based on the client's goals, preferences, needs and readiness.
How to Access the Services?

Just give us a call to see if there is a bed available.

Self-referrals are most common. Referrals are accepted from hospitals, primary care providers, social services agencies, police, courts, lawyers, family, friends, etc.
A Program Worker will take the call, do a brief intake with you, describe our services and direct you as to your next step. Remember, you can call us 24/7. If we cannot help you, we can refer you to other services.

Services are free, confidential and offered in French and English in a non-judgmental, culturally safe environment.
