Confidentiality
The information obtained will be held in confidence. By that, we mean that information will not be disclosed to a third party without your consent, however, there are certain limited circumstances in which we may be required by law to disclose what would otherwise be confidential information, and we will do so. These circumstances where we are required to disclose information are: court orders, subpoena, and mandatory reporting such as suspicion of children in need of protection, threat of harm to self or others, driving under the influence. Please be advised that if clients become disruptive or demonstrate inappropriate behaviours, our security system will be activated and the OPP will be called for assistance immediately.
This agency has a team approach to ensure comprehensive care of all of our clients, and in providing this service, all Addiction Counselors and the Management Team may access all clinical files.
